June 3 2024. I planted the corn about a week ago and some of it is just showing. Unfortunately just before I planted the seeds it heated up and this may give poor germination. I did try to put air into it to dry and cool it but it did get hot. Our recent insulation in the seed container has helped lately.

We have grown corn for a few years. At first I just did the regular organic planting in tilled soil and then cultivated as best I could. It was not successful as the weeds were a real problem.

In 2023 I used crimped rye and planted the corn into the crimped rye. It was not successful eithr and I attribute it to mouldy seeds. I bush hogged the result and it became a pasture.

For 2024 I again attempted top plant my corn into crimped rye with varying results. More than a week later some of the corn has come up and I am still waiting to see what the field yields.
